Hello.

So..

Thanks to K8thekitty, I now have a blog. Named 'That Neck Beard Guy.'

Well.
This blog is the place where everything piles up.. I guess it's the equivalent to that one room in the Room of Requirement where Tom Riddle and Harry Potter hide everything.

Welcome!

As a starter.. Why do we have religion? What does religion accomplish?
All it does is make wars happen. Why do we bother at all?
If God is real, isn't he supposed to keep peace? But the fact of a God existing makes wars happen.

(Edit): Oh, by the way, Happy Valentine's to all!

  3. First of all, I would like to point out that you label 'god' as a "he". Am I the only one who sees inconsistency there?
Anyway, look at the world around you, it is quite hard to believe in a god.
    1. Read 'Good Without God'- I can borrow it to you. It does a good job of explaining why humans feel the need to have religion. And like it or not, Marx was right: "Religion is the opiate of the masses."
    2. Social order and control...in third world countries it can be beneficial in their developing years. However, intelligent societies accomplish nothing great with religion.
    3. Ahahahahaha. "We"?
    4. "He"? (cough cough) and Yitz! Read the bible, Koran, Torah, etc. You will be surprised to learn that actually, 'god' is violent. Jesus, Mohammed,King Solomon and Buddha may have been peaceful people, but the gods of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism were certainly NOT known as peaceful.

Those are my thoughts...I will bring you Epstein's book. You will find it intellectually stimulating.
*I also find it hard to believe that I am going to hell, whereas a total criminal could 'beg for forgiveness', say a few 'Hail Marys' and go to heaven.

  4. Note: In the bible, 'god' is referred to as 'He'.
1: Hmm.. Now it looks like I have 2 books to look through.
    2: Medieval Europe possibly?
3: We = the whole world together.

Endnote: All of us are going to hell at least 18 times in our life, unless you believe in 19 different religions at once, where you go to heaven 19 times.

  5. God is not always violent, think of the good that has happened in your life!

  10. okay

ITF, your book is easy to read..
But KTK, your book is a lot more convincing. It seems.. more.. professional than the other one.

  11. Heres something for ya....CORRELATION DOES NOT EQUAL CAUSEATION!!! If the KTK's book says something (X) and it seems to happen (Y), whose to say there was no other variable changing it???(Z)(a lurking variable)
    Like....
If it says God hurts people, and people get hurt, why couldn't it be a freak accident, or someone got drunk and drove off a cliff? God wouldn't make someone do that...It was that persons choice to get drunk...you understand?

  12. BTW, what does professionality have to do with anything? It may SOUND legit...but is it....?
